Meet Our Staff

Kristin & Kurt in Hawaii 2014

Kristin Thompson lived in Germany while in high school and has traveled to Austria, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland and Switzerland.  Her favorite place in the world, however, is Maui, Hawaii!  Their family shares a love of outdoor adventure vacations that are eco-friendly as they believe whole-heartedly in the concept of “leave no trace”.

Kurt Thompson is an avid outdoor enthusiast who currently works for a Maryland non-profit, the Institute for Conservation Leadership.  He participated in a student exchange program in Germany while in high school, spent a month traveling throughout Europe while in college, and participated in a study trip to Asia with his grad school class.  He has visited the countries of the Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Switzerland, and Vietnam.  By far, his favorite place to relax and enjoy nature is the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern MN.

Betsy in Switzerland

Betsy Thompson is now a college senior majoring in International Studies and has been helping to lead tours since 2009.  She spent the 2012-13 academic school year studying abroad in Florence, Italy.  While there, she visited sixteen countries including Ireland, England, Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Greece and Turkey.  She is an avid adventure traveler who has enjoyed whitewater rafting in Croatia, hang-gliding over the Swiss Alps and Canyoning in Interlaken.  She most recently traveled to the African countries of Uganda and Rwanda in May, 2014 where she rafted the Nile, bungee-jumped and was fortunate enough to go on several safaris!  She also works part-time as an Outfitter for an adventure/outdoor travel company and lifeguards.  You will be in good hands with Betsy leading one of your tours!
